This object is possibly an old Arabic script pendant. It is a brass pendant with Islamic writing and may contain silver inlay. The pendant is often described as an amulet or charm. Or it is a Chinese lock charm. These charms originated in the Ming dynasty and became popular in the 19th century. Lock charms are believed to protect the wearer from evil spirits. The inscriptions and symbols on the charms are thought to ward off malevolent forces. The inscription on this type of charm often translates to "longevity, wealth, and honor". The charms are also known as "longevity locks. It’s from an estate sale and is in excellent vintage condition but I have no idea exactly what it is except that it is beautiful.
